Antilatency Pillars

Antilatency Pillars

A new Antilatency product for mobile projects in VR location-based entertainment, VR training, MoCap, and Virtual Production. With Antilatency Pillars you can bring your daring ideas to life: a mobile digital art exposition, an immersive VR theatre, VR arcades, and even a mobile Virtual Production or MoCap studio.

New opportunities with the same tracking quality

With Pillars, you can create a new type of Environmenta pillar tracking area. This tracking area perfectly fits cases where you can’t utilize ceiling, trusses, or floor. For example, when the ceiling height is more than 7-10 m or you constantly utilize the floor in your VR experience or studio. It also gives you the freedom to play with the room's geometry, walls, and corridors in your experience both in the physical and the virtual world.
The tracking principle remains the same — the tracker uses active IR markers, organized in 3 different patterns on each Pillar.

Construction and mobility

We set out to make this tracking area as mobile as possible. Each Pillar weighs only 3 kg and consists of two parts — the body and the base. It can be disassembled into two separate parts for convenient transportation.
Assembling takes only 5 minutes — this is how long it takes to fasten these parts together.
Regardless of whether the transport clamps are mounted or not, the Pillar Reference Bar can only be held by its housing (from the back of the pillar). Do not press on the suspension with IR markers to avoid damaging it.
The pillar tracking area setup is really quick. You only need 15 minutes to organize the tracking area. Place pillars in the space in an arbitrary manner, measure the distance between them, configure the vertical Environment in AntilatencyService, and calibrate it. The tracking area is ready for use.
Pillars must be strictly vertical for the best tracking quality. This is why the Pillar’s base has an alignment mechanism that works automatically. It can compensate for 3-5° of surface deviation by adjusting the height of the base.
Each Pillar is powered via a USB Type-C connector so you can connect it to a power source or use a power bank.

User-friendly experience

The pillar tracking area is compact, easy to transport, and does not require significant time and effort during installation and configuration. It can be set up by a single person.
To organize the tracking area you will need a minimum of 2 Pillars. The required number of Pillars is determined individually based on several parameters. All you need is to place the devices around the space and configure the pillar Environment in AntilatencyService.
Also, for your convenience, we have created a special platform for Pillars. By securing it to the floor with duct tape, you can mount and dismount the tracking area at any time without repeated measurements and changing the Environment settings in AntilatencyService.
